Power welcomes major jobs boost for Baldoyle

The announcement today that the pharmaceutical company Mylan is to create 280 jobs in Baldoyle is a major boost for the area, according to local Fianna Fáil Senator Averil Power.

“Mylan is the largest pharmaceutical company of its kind in Ireland and currently employs 700 people nationally. The fact that they have chosen to expand their operation in Baldoyle significantly over the next five years is a great vote of confidence both in the quality of the company’s existing staff and in our area.

“While Baldoyle Industrial Estate has lost jobs in a number of companies over the past few years, the area remains a very attractive place to do business. We have skilled staff, proximity to the airport and M50 and a strong local Chamber of Commerce. The wider North Dublin area has also built a strong reputation over the years as a global hub for research & technology, particularly in the areas of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. I am delighted Mylan has decided to increase its investment here and hope that more companies will follow suit.

“The 280 new jobs to be created over the next 5 years will be highly-skilled positions that will add real value to the local economy. I congratulate Mylan and the IDA on this investment and wish the company continued success in the future.” concluded Senator Power.
